New King James VersionNew International Version
A Psalm of David when he pretended madness before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.1Of David. When he pretended to be insane before Abimelek, who drove him away, and he left. I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.
My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad.2I will glory in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.3Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.
I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.4I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed.5Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.
This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.6This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.7The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.
Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!8Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him.9Fear the LORD, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.
The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.10The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.11Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good?12Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days,
Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit.13keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.
Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.14Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry.15The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry;
The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.16but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth.
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles.17The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.18The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.19The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all;
He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken.20he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.
Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.21Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.22The LORD will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
