Psalm 75
NKJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew Living Translation
1To the Chief Musician. Set to “Do Not Destroy.” A Psalm of Asaph. A Song. We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks! For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near.1We thank you, O God! We give thanks because you are near. People everywhere tell of your wonderful deeds.
2“When I choose the proper time, I will judge uprightly.2God says, “At the time I have planned, I will bring justice against the wicked.
3The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved; I set up its pillars firmly. Selah3When the earth quakes and its people live in turmoil, I am the one who keeps its foundations firm. Interlude
4“I said to the boastful, ‘Do not deal boastfully,’ And to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up the horn.4“I warned the proud, ‘Stop your boasting!’ I told the wicked, ‘Don’t raise your fists!
5Do not lift up your horn on high; Do not speak with a stiff neck.’ ”5Don’t raise your fists in defiance at the heavens or speak with such arrogance.’”
6For exaltation comes neither from the east Nor from the west nor from the south.6For no one on earth—from east or west, or even from the wilderness— should raise a defiant fist.
7But God is the Judge: He puts down one, And exalts another.7It is God alone who judges; he decides who will rise and who will fall.
8For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, And the wine is red; It is fully mixed, and He pours it out; Surely its dregs shall all the wicked of the earth Drain and drink down.8For the LORD holds a cup in his hand that is full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours out the wine in judgment, and all the wicked must drink it, draining it to the dregs.
9But I will declare forever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.9But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10“All the horns of the wicked I will also cut off, But the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.”10For God says, “I will break the strength of the wicked, but I will increase the power of the godly.”
