“Using acacia wood, construct a square altar 7 1/2 feet wide, 7 1/2 feet long, and 4 1/2 feet high.1“You are to build an altar of acacia wood. The altar must be square, five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high.
Make horns for each of its four corners so that the horns and altar are all one piece. Overlay the altar with bronze.2Make a horn on each of its four corners, so that the horns are of one piece, and overlay it with bronze.
Make ash buckets, shovels, basins, meat forks, and firepans, all of bronze.3Make all its utensils of bronze—its pots for removing ashes, its shovels, its sprinkling bowls, its meat forks, and its firepans.
Make a bronze grating for it, and attach four bronze rings at its four corners.4Construct for it a grate of bronze mesh, and make a bronze ring at each of the four corners of the mesh.
Install the grating halfway down the side of the altar, under the ledge.5Set the grate beneath the ledge of the altar, so that the mesh comes halfway up the altar.
For carrying the altar, make poles from acacia wood, and overlay them with bronze.6Additionally, make poles of acacia wood for the altar and overlay them with bronze.
Insert the poles through the rings on the two sides of the altar.7The poles are to be inserted into the rings so that the poles are on two sides of the altar when it is carried.
The altar must be hollow, made from planks. Build it just as you were shown on the mountain. Plans for the Courtyard8Construct the altar with boards so that it is hollow. It is to be made just as you were shown on the mountain.
“Then make the courtyard for the Tabernacle, enclosed with curtains made of finely woven linen. On the south side, make the curtains 150 feet long.9You are also to make a courtyard for the tabernacle. On the south side of the courtyard make curtains of finely spun linen, a hundred cubits long on one side,
They will be held up by twenty posts set securely in twenty bronze bases. Hang the curtains with silver hooks and rings.10with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases, and silver hooks and bands on the posts.
Make the curtains the same on the north side—150 feet of curtains held up by twenty posts set securely in bronze bases. Hang the curtains with silver hooks and rings.11Likewise there are to be curtains on the north side, a hundred cubits long, with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases, and with silver hooks and bands on the posts.
The curtains on the west end of the courtyard will be 75 feet long, supported by ten posts set into ten bases.12The curtains on the west side of the courtyard shall be fifty cubits wide, with ten posts and ten bases.
The east end of the courtyard, the front, will also be 75 feet long.13The east side of the courtyard, toward the sunrise, is to be fifty cubits wide.
The courtyard entrance will be on the east end, flanked by two curtains. The curtain on the right side will be 22 1/2 feet long, supported by three posts set into three bases.14Make the curtains on one side fifteen cubits long, with three posts and three bases,
The curtain on the left side will also be 22 1/2 feet long, supported by three posts set into three bases.15and the curtains on the other side fifteen cubits long, with three posts and three bases.
“For the entrance to the courtyard, make a curtain that is 30 feet long. Make it from finely woven linen, and decorate it with beautiful embroidery in blue, purple, and scarlet thread. Support it with four posts, each securely set in its own base.16The gate of the courtyard shall be twenty cubits long, with a curtain embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen. It shall have four posts and four bases.
All the posts around the courtyard must have silver rings and hooks and bronze bases.17All the posts around the courtyard shall have silver bands, silver hooks, and bronze bases.
So the entire courtyard will be 150 feet long and 75 feet wide, with curtain walls 7 1/2 feet high, made from finely woven linen. The bases for the posts will be made of bronze.18The entire courtyard shall be a hundred cubits long and fifty cubits wide, with curtains of finely spun linen five cubits high, and with bronze bases.
“All the articles used in the rituals of the Tabernacle, including all the tent pegs used to support the Tabernacle and the courtyard curtains, must be made of bronze. Light for the Tabernacle19All the utensils of the tabernacle for every use, including all its tent pegs and the tent pegs of the courtyard, shall be made of bronze.
“Command the people of Israel to bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to keep the lamps burning continually.20And you are to command the Israelites to bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to keep the lamps burning continually.
The lampstand will stand in the Tabernacle, in front of the inner curtain that shields the Ark of the Covenant. Aaron and his sons must keep the lamps burning in the LORD’s presence all night. This is a permanent law for the people of Israel, and it must be observed from generation to generation.21In the Tent of Meeting, outside the veil that is in front of the Testimony, Aaron and his sons are to tend the lamps before the LORD from evening until morning. This is to be a permanent statute for the Israelites for the generations to come.
