New Living TranslationChristian Standard Bible
Praise the LORD! Praise the name of the LORD! Praise him, you who serve the LORD,1Hallelujah! Praise the name of the LORD. Give praise, you servants of the LORD
you who serve in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God.2who stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God.
Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; celebrate his lovely name with music.3Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; sing praise to his name, for it is delightful.
For the LORD has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel for his own special treasure.4For the LORD has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his treasured possession.
I know the greatness of the LORD— that our Lord is greater than any other god.5For I know that the LORD is great; our Lord is greater than all gods.
The LORD does whatever pleases him throughout all heaven and earth, and on the seas and in their depths.6The LORD does whatever he pleases in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all the depths.
He causes the clouds to rise over the whole earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from his storehouses.7He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain and brings the wind from his storehouses.
He destroyed the firstborn in each Egyptian home, both people and animals.8He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, both people and animals.
He performed miraculous signs and wonders in Egypt against Pharaoh and all his people.9He sent signs and wonders against you, Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his officials.
He struck down great nations and slaughtered mighty kings—10He struck down many nations and slaughtered mighty kings:
Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan.11Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan.
He gave their land as an inheritance, a special possession to his people Israel.12He gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to his people Israel.
Your name, O LORD, endures forever; your fame, O LORD, is known to every generation.13LORD, your name endures forever, your reputation, LORD, through all generations.
For the LORD will give justice to his people and have compassion on his servants.14For the LORD will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants.
The idols of the nations are merely things of silver and gold, shaped by human hands.15The idols of the nations are of silver and gold, made by human hands.
They have mouths but cannot speak, and eyes but cannot see.16They have mouths but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see.
They have ears but cannot hear, and mouths but cannot breathe.17They have ears but cannot hear; indeed, there is no breath in their mouths.
And those who make idols are just like them, as are all who trust in them.18Those who make them are just like them, as are all who trust in them.
O Israel, praise the LORD! O priests—descendants of Aaron—praise the LORD!19House of Israel, bless the LORD! House of Aaron, bless the LORD!
O Levites, praise the LORD! All you who fear the LORD, praise the LORD!20House of Levi, bless the LORD! You who revere the LORD, bless the LORD!
The LORD be praised from Zion, for he lives here in Jerusalem. Praise the LORD!21Blessed be the LORD from Zion; he dwells in Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
