Psalm 135
NLT Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationInternational Standard Version
Praise the LORD! Praise the name of the LORD! Praise him, you who serve the LORD,1Hallelujah! Praise the name of the LORD! Give praise, you servants of the LORD,
you who serve in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God.2you who are standing in the LORD's Temple, in the courtyards of the house of our God.
Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; celebrate his lovely name with music.3Praise the LORD, because the LORD is good; Sing to his name, for he is gracious.
For the LORD has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel for his own special treasure.4It is Jacob whom the LORD chose for himself— Israel as his personal possession.
I know the greatness of the LORD— that our Lord is greater than any other god.5Indeed, I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord surpasses all gods.
The LORD does whatever pleases him throughout all heaven and earth, and on the seas and in their depths.6The LORD does whatever pleases him in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all its deep regions.
He causes the clouds to rise over the whole earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from his storehouses.7He makes the clouds rise from the ends of the earth, fashioning lightning for the rain, bringing the wind from his storehouses.
He destroyed the firstborn in each Egyptian home, both people and animals.8It was the LORD who struck down the firstborn of Egypt, including both men and animals.
He performed miraculous signs and wonders in Egypt against Pharaoh and all his people.9He sent signs and wonders among you, Egypt, before Pharaoh and all his servants.
He struck down great nations and slaughtered mighty kings—10He struck down many nations, killing many kings—
Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan.11Sihon, king of the Amorites, Og, king of Bashan, and every kingdom of Canaan—
He gave their land as an inheritance, a special possession to his people Israel.12and he gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to his people Israel.
Your name, O LORD, endures forever; your fame, O LORD, is known to every generation.13Your name, LORD, exists forever, and your reputation, LORD, throughout the ages.
For the LORD will give justice to his people and have compassion on his servants.14For the LORD will vindicate his people, and he will show compassion on his servants.
The idols of the nations are merely things of silver and gold, shaped by human hands.15The idols of the nations are silver and gold, worked by the hands of human beings.
They have mouths but cannot speak, and eyes but cannot see.16Mouths are attributed to them, but they cannot speak; sight is attributed to them, but they cannot see;
They have ears but cannot hear, and mouths but cannot breathe.17ears are attributed to them, but they do not hear, and there is no breath in their mouths.
And those who make idols are just like them, as are all who trust in them.18Those who craft them— and all who trust in them— will become like them.
O Israel, praise the LORD! O priests—descendants of Aaron—praise the LORD!19House of Israel, bless the LORD! House of Aaron, bless the LORD!
O Levites, praise the LORD! All you who fear the LORD, praise the LORD!20House of Levi, bless the LORD! You who fear the LORD, bless the LORD!
The LORD be praised from Zion, for he lives here in Jerusalem. Praise the LORD!21Blessed be the LORD from Zion, he who lives in Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
