| 1Come with great power, O God, and rescue me! Defend me with your might. | 1God, by your name deliver me, and by your power vindicate me. |
| 2Listen to my prayer, O God. Pay attention to my plea. | 2God, listen to my prayer, and pay attention to the words of my mouth. |
| 3For strangers are attacking me; violent people are trying to kill me. They care nothing for God. Interlude | 3For the arrogant have arisen against me; oppressors have sought to take my life. They do not keep God in mind! Interlude |
| 4But God is my helper. The Lord keeps me alive! | 4Look, God is my helper; the Lord is with those who are guarding my life. |
| 5May the evil plans of my enemies be turned against them. Do as you promised and put an end to them. | 5He will turn the evil upon those who lie in wait for me. Cut them off with your truth. |
