Psalm 64
NLT Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationKing James Bible
1O God, listen to my complaint. Protect my life from my enemies’ threats.1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
2Hide me from the plots of this evil mob, from this gang of wrongdoers.2Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
3They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their bitter words like arrows.3Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:
4They shoot from ambush at the innocent, attacking suddenly and fearlessly.4That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
5They encourage each other to do evil and plan how to set their traps in secret. “Who will ever notice?” they ask.5They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?
6As they plot their crimes, they say, “We have devised the perfect plan!” Yes, the human heart and mind are cunning.6They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
7But God himself will shoot them with his arrows, suddenly striking them down.7But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
8Their own tongues will ruin them, and all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.8So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.
9Then everyone will be afraid; they will proclaim the mighty acts of God and realize all the amazing things he does.9And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.
10The godly will rejoice in the LORD and find shelter in him. And those who do what is right will praise him.10The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
