Psalm 64
NLT Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew American Standard Bible 1995
1O God, listen to my complaint. Protect my life from my enemies’ threats.1For the choir director. A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; Preserve my life from dread of the enemy.
2Hide me from the plots of this evil mob, from this gang of wrongdoers.2Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers, From the tumult of those who do iniquity,
3They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their bitter words like arrows.3Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword. They aimed bitter speech as their arrow,
4They shoot from ambush at the innocent, attacking suddenly and fearlessly.4To shoot from concealment at the blameless; Suddenly they shoot at him, and do not fear.
5They encourage each other to do evil and plan how to set their traps in secret. “Who will ever notice?” they ask.5They hold fast to themselves an evil purpose; They talk of laying snares secretly; They say, "Who can see them?"
6As they plot their crimes, they say, “We have devised the perfect plan!” Yes, the human heart and mind are cunning.6They devise injustices, saying, "We are ready with a well-conceived plot"; For the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep.
7But God himself will shoot them with his arrows, suddenly striking them down.7But God will shoot at them with an arrow; Suddenly they will be wounded.
8Their own tongues will ruin them, and all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.8So they will make him stumble; Their own tongue is against them; All who see them will shake the head.
9Then everyone will be afraid; they will proclaim the mighty acts of God and realize all the amazing things he does.9Then all men will fear, And they will declare the work of God, And will consider what He has done.
10The godly will rejoice in the LORD and find shelter in him. And those who do what is right will praise him.10The righteous man will be glad in the LORD and will take refuge in Him; And all the upright in heart will glory.
