Psalm 82
NLT Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationKing James Bible
1God presides over heaven’s court; he pronounces judgment on the heavenly beings:1A Psalm of Asaph. God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.
2“How long will you hand down unjust decisions by favoring the wicked? Interlude2How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
3“Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.3Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
4Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people.4Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
5But these oppressors know nothing; they are so ignorant! They wander about in darkness, while the whole world is shaken to the core.5They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
6I say, ‘You are gods; you are all children of the Most High.6I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
7But you will die like mere mortals and fall like every other ruler.’”7But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
8Rise up, O God, and judge the earth, for all the nations belong to you.8Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
