Psalm 82
NLT Parallel BSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationBerean Study Bible
1God presides over heaven’s court; he pronounces judgment on the heavenly beings:1A Psalm of Asaph. God presides in the divine assembly; He renders judgment among the gods:
2“How long will you hand down unjust decisions by favoring the wicked? Interlude2“How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah
3“Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.3Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; uphold the rights of the afflicted and oppressed.
4Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people.4Rescue the weak and needy; save them from the hand of the wicked.
5But these oppressors know nothing; they are so ignorant! They wander about in darkness, while the whole world is shaken to the core.5They do not know or understand; they wander in the darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
6I say, ‘You are gods; you are all children of the Most High.6I have said, ‘You are gods; you are all sons of the Most High.’
7But you will die like mere mortals and fall like every other ruler.’”7But like mortals you will die, and like rulers you will fall.”
8Rise up, O God, and judge the earth, for all the nations belong to you.8Arise, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are Your inheritance.
