NLT Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew American Standard Bible 1995
Rescue me from my enemies, O God. Protect me from those who have come to destroy me.1For the choir director; set to Al-tashheth. A Mikhtam of David, when Saul sent men and they watched the house in order to kill him. Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; Set me securely on high away from those who rise up against me.
Rescue me from these criminals; save me from these murderers.2Deliver me from those who do iniquity And save me from men of bloodshed.
They have set an ambush for me. Fierce enemies are out there waiting, LORD, though I have not sinned or offended them.3For behold, they have set an ambush for my life; Fierce men launch an attack against me, Not for my transgression nor for my sin, O LORD,
I have done nothing wrong, yet they prepare to attack me. Wake up! See what is happening and help me!4For no guilt of mine, they run and set themselves against me. Arouse Yourself to help me, and see!
O LORD God of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, wake up and punish those hostile nations. Show no mercy to wicked traitors. Interlude5You, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, Awake to punish all the nations; Do not be gracious to any who are treacherous in iniquity. Selah.
They come out at night, snarling like vicious dogs as they prowl the streets.6They return at evening, they howl like a dog, And go around the city.
Listen to the filth that comes from their mouths; their words cut like swords. “After all, who can hear us?” they sneer.7Behold, they belch forth with their mouth; Swords are in their lips, For, they say, "Who hears?"
But LORD, you laugh at them. You scoff at all the hostile nations.8But You, O LORD, laugh at them; You scoff at all the nations.
You are my strength; I wait for you to rescue me, for you, O God, are my fortress.9Because of his strength I will watch for You, For God is my stronghold.
In his unfailing love, my God will stand with me. He will let me look down in triumph on all my enemies.10My God in His lovingkindness will meet me; God will let me look triumphantly upon my foes.
Don’t kill them, for my people soon forget such lessons; stagger them with your power, and bring them to their knees, O Lord our shield.11Do not slay them, or my people will forget; Scatter them by Your power, and bring them down, O Lord, our shield.
Because of the sinful things they say, because of the evil that is on their lips, let them be captured by their pride, their curses, and their lies.12On account of the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips, Let them even be caught in their pride, And on account of curses and lies which they utter.
Destroy them in your anger! Wipe them out completely! Then the whole world will know that God reigns in Israel. Interlude13Destroy them in wrath, destroy them that they may be no more; That men may know that God rules in Jacob To the ends of the earth. Selah.
My enemies come out at night, snarling like vicious dogs as they prowl the streets.14They return at evening, they howl like a dog, And go around the city.
They scavenge for food but go to sleep unsatisfied.15They wander about for food And growl if they are not satisfied.
But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress.16But as for me, I shall sing of Your strength; Yes, I shall joyfully sing of Your lovingkindness in the morning, For You have been my stronghold And a refuge in the day of my distress.
O my Strength, to you I sing praises, for you, O God, are my refuge, the God who shows me unfailing love.17O my strength, I will sing praises to You; For God is my stronghold, the God who shows me lovingkindness.
