I looked up again and saw a scroll flying through the air.1Then I turned to look, and there was a flying scroll!
“What do you see?” the angel asked. “I see a flying scroll,” I replied. “It appears to be about 30 feet long and 15 feet wide. ”2Someone asked me, "What do you see?" I replied, "I see a flying scroll thirty feet long and fifteen feet wide."
Then he said to me, “This scroll contains the curse that is going out over the entire land. One side of the scroll says that those who steal will be banished from the land; the other side says that those who swear falsely will be banished from the land.3The speaker went on to say, "This is a curse traveling across the whole earth. For example, according to the curse whoever steals will be removed from the community; or on the other hand (according to the curse) whoever swears falsely will suffer the same fate."
And this is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: I am sending this curse into the house of every thief and into the house of everyone who swears falsely using my name. And my curse will remain in that house and completely destroy it—even its timbers and stones.” A Woman in a Basket4"I will send it out," says the LORD who rules over all, "and it will enter the house of the thief and of the person who swears falsely in my name. It will land in the middle of his house and destroy both timber and stones."
Then the angel who was talking with me came forward and said, “Look up and see what’s coming.”5After this the angelic messenger who had been speaking to me went out and said, "Look, see what is leaving."
“What is it?” I asked. He replied, “It is a basket for measuring grain, and it’s filled with the sins of everyone throughout the land.”6I asked, "What is it?" And he replied, "It is a basket for measuring grain that is moving away from here." Moreover, he said, "This is their 'eye' throughout all the earth."
Then the heavy lead cover was lifted off the basket, and there was a woman sitting inside it.7Then a round lead cover was raised up, revealing a woman sitting inside the basket.
The angel said, “The woman’s name is Wickedness,” and he pushed her back into the basket and closed the heavy lid again.8He then said, "This woman represents wickedness," and he pushed her down into the basket and placed the lead cover on top.
Then I looked up and saw two women flying toward us, gliding on the wind. They had wings like a stork, and they picked up the basket and flew into the sky.9Then I looked again and saw two women going forth with the wind in their wings (they had wings like those of a stork) and they lifted up the basket between the earth and the sky.
“Where are they taking the basket?” I asked the angel.10I asked the messenger who was speaking to me, "Where are they taking the basket?"
He replied, “To the land of Babylonia, where they will build a temple for the basket. And when the temple is ready, they will set the basket there on its pedestal.”11He replied, "To build a temple for her in the land of Babylonia. When it is finished, she will be placed there in her own residence."
