Psalm 143
NLT Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew International Version
Hear my prayer, O LORD; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous.1A psalm of David. LORD, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief.
Don’t put your servant on trial, for no one is innocent before you.2Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no one living is righteous before you.
My enemy has chased me. He has knocked me to the ground and forces me to live in darkness like those in the grave.3The enemy pursues me, he crushes me to the ground; he makes me dwell in the darkness like those long dead.
I am losing all hope; I am paralyzed with fear.4So my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is dismayed.
I remember the days of old. I ponder all your great works and think about what you have done.5I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done.
I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain. Interlude6I spread out my hands to you; I thirst for you like a parched land.
Come quickly, LORD, and answer me, for my depression deepens. Don’t turn away from me, or I will die.7Answer me quickly, LORD; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit.
Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.8Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.
Rescue me from my enemies, LORD; I run to you to hide me.9Rescue me from my enemies, LORD, for I hide myself in you.
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.10Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
For the glory of your name, O LORD, preserve my life. Because of your faithfulness, bring me out of this distress.11For your name's sake, LORD, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble.
In your unfailing love, silence all my enemies and destroy all my foes, for I am your servant.12In your unfailing love, silence my enemies; destroy all my foes, for I am your servant.
