1Then Job answered: 1וַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֗וֹב וַיֹּאמַֽר׃
2“How you have helped the powerless and saved the arm that is feeble! 2מֶה־ עָזַ֥רְתָּ לְלֹא־ כֹ֑חַ ה֝וֹשַׁ֗עְתָּ זְר֣וֹעַ לֹא־ עֹֽז׃
3How you have counseled the unwise and provided fully sound insight! 3מַה־ יָּ֭עַצְתָּ לְלֹ֣א חָכְמָ֑ה וְ֝תוּשִׁיָּ֗ה לָרֹ֥ב הוֹדָֽעְתָּ׃
4To whom have you uttered these words? And whose spirit spoke through you? 4אֶת־ מִ֭י הִגַּ֣דְתָּ מִלִּ֑ין וְנִשְׁמַת־ מִ֝י יָצְאָ֥ה מִמֶּֽךָּ׃
5The dead tremble— those who dwell beneath the waters. 5הָרְפָאִ֥ים יְחוֹלָ֑לוּ מִתַּ֥חַת מַ֝֗יִם וְשֹׁכְנֵיהֶֽם׃
6Sheol is naked before Him, and Abaddon has no covering. 6עָר֣וֹם שְׁא֣וֹל נֶגְדּ֑וֹ וְאֵ֥ין כְּ֝ס֗וּת לָֽאֲבַדּֽוֹן׃
7He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth upon nothing. 7נֹטֶ֣ה צָפ֣וֹן עַל־ תֹּ֑הוּ תֹּ֥לֶה אֶ֝֗רֶץ עַל־ בְּלִי־ מָֽה׃
8He wraps up the waters in His clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their own weight. 8צֹרֵֽר־ מַ֥יִם בְּעָבָ֑יו וְלֹא־ נִבְקַ֖ע עָנָ֣ן תַּחְתָּֽם׃
9He covers the face of the full moon, spreading His cloud over it. 9מְאַחֵ֥ז פְּנֵי־ כִסֵּ֑ה פַּרְשֵׁ֖ז עָלָ֣יו עֲנָנֽוֹ׃
10He has inscribed a horizon on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness. 10חֹֽק־ חָ֭ג עַל־ פְּנֵי־ מָ֑יִם עַד־ תַּכְלִ֖ית א֣וֹר עִם־ חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃
11The foundations of heaven quake, astounded at His rebuke. 11עַמּוּדֵ֣י שָׁמַ֣יִם יְרוֹפָ֑פוּ וְ֝יִתְמְה֗וּ מִגַּעֲרָתֽוֹ׃
12By His power He stilled the sea, and by His understanding He shattered Rahab. 12בְּ֭כֹחוֹ רָגַ֣ע הַיָּ֑ם [ובתובנתו] (וּ֝בִתְבוּנָת֗וֹ) מָ֣חַץ רָֽהַב׃
13By His breath the skies were cleared; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent. 13בְּ֭רוּחוֹ שָׁמַ֣יִם שִׁפְרָ֑ה חֹֽלֲלָ֥ה יָ֝ד֗וֹ נָחָ֥שׁ בָּרִֽיחַ׃
14Indeed, these [are] but the fringes of His ways; how faint is the whisper we hear of Him! Who then can understand the thunder of His power?” 14הֶן־ אֵ֤לֶּה ׀ קְצ֬וֹת [דרכו] (דְּרָכָ֗יו) וּמַה־ שֵּׁ֣מֶץ דָּ֭בָר נִשְׁמַע־ בּ֑וֹ וְרַ֥עַם [גבורתו] (גְּ֝בוּרוֹתָ֗יו‪‬) מִ֣י יִתְבּוֹנָֽן׃ ס
