To You I lift Up My Soul 1 Unto You, O YHWH, I lift up my soul. 2My God, in You I trust. Do not let me be put to shame; do not let my enemies rejoice over me. 3Indeed, all those waiting on You will not be put to shame; those who act treacherously without cause will be ashamed. 4May You show me Your ways, O YHWH; 5Make me to walk in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; 6Remember Your mercies, O YHWH, and Your loving devotion, 7May You not remember the sins of my youth, and my transgressions; according to Your loving devotion, may You remember me, for the sake of Your goodness, O YHWH. 8Good and upright is YHWH; upon thus, He directs sinful ones in the way. 9He guides the humble ones in justice, and He teaches the humble ones His way. 10All the paths of YHWH are loving devotion and truth, to those keeping His covenant and His decrees. 11And for the sake of Your name, O YHWH, may You pardon my iniquity, though it is great. 12Who is this man, the one fearing YHWH? He will direct him in the way he must choose. 13His soul shall dwell in goodness, and his seed shall possess the land. 14The counsel of YHWH is with those fearing Him, and He makes known to them His covenant. 15My eyes are continually toward YHWH, for He brings out my feet from a net. 16May You turn to me and show favor to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. 17The troubles of my heart have enlarged; may You bring me out from my distress. 18Look on my affliction and my trouble, 19See my enemies!—For they are many, and with violent hatred they hate me. 20Guard my soul and deliver me; let me not be put to shame, 21May integrity and uprightness keep me, for I wait for You.† 22May You redeem Israel, O God, from all his distress.
