Make a Joyful Noise
(Psalm 100:1–5)

1For the one directing. A Song. A Psalm.

1 Shout to God,

all the earth!

2Sing forth the glory of His name;

make glorious His praise!

3Say to God, “How awesome are Your works!

In the abundance of Your might,

Your enemies feign obedience to You.

4All the earth will bow down to You

and will sing to You—

they will sing praises to Your name.”

Selah

5Come and see the works of God,

being fearsome in His dealing with the sons of man.

6He turned the sea to dry land;

through the river they passed over on foot.

There we rejoiced in Him,

7ruling in His might forever;

His eyes keep watch on the nations;

let those rebelling not lift themselves high.

Selah

8bless our God, O peoples,

and make heard the voice of His praise—

9the One putting our soul among the living

and not having given our feet to slip.

10For You have tested us, O God;

You have refined us like the refining of silver.

11You have brought us into a net;

You have placed pressure on our backs.

12You have caused man to ride over our heads;

we came into the fire and into the water,

and You brought us forth to a watered place.

13I will come into your house with burnt offerings;

I will fulfill to You my vows,

14for which my lips have opened,

and my mouth has spoken in the distress for me.

15Burnt offerings of fatlings I will offer to You,

with the fragrant smoke of rams;

I will offer of bulls with goats.

Selah

16Come, listen, all who fear God,

and I will recount what He has done for my soul.

17With my mouth I called out to Him,

and He was praised under my tongue.

18If I had seen iniquity in my heart,

the Lord would not have listened.

19Surely God has heard;

He has attended to the voice of my prayer.

20Blessed be God, who has not turned aside my prayer,

or His loving devotion from me.

Footnotes:

17 Or and His praise was on my tongue
