Be My Rock of Refuge 1In You, O YHWH, do I seek refuge; let me not be put to shame forever! 2In Your righteousness, deliver me and cause me to escape; incline to me Your ear, and save me! 3May You be to me as a rock, a habitation, to go in continually; You have given a command to save me, for You are my rock and my fortress. 4O My God, rescue me from the hand of a wicked one, from the palm of the one acting unjustly and pressing. 5For You are my hope, O Lord YHWH, 6By You I have been supported from the womb; from the bowels of my mother You cut me out. My praise is continually for You. 7I have been as a wonder to many, 8My mouth is filled with Your praise, with Your splendor all the day. 9Do not cast me off in the time of old age; according to the consumption of my strength do not forsake me. 10For my enemies speak against me, and those watching my soul take counsel together, 11saying, “God has forsaken him. Pursue him and seize him, for there is none to deliver him!” 12O God, do not be far from me; O my God, hurry to be my help! 13Let them be put to shame and consumed, those opposing my soul; let them be covered with scorn and disgrace, 14But I continually will hope, and I will add upon all Your praise. 15My mouth will recount Your righteousness, all the day Your salvation, though I do not know the numbers. 16I will come in the might of the Lord YHWH; I will cause Your righteousness to be remembered—Yours alone. 17O God, You have taught me from my youth, and until now I declare Your wonders. 18Indeed, when I am old and grayheaded, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare Your arm to a generation, Your strength to everyone to come. 19And Your righteousness, O God, is to the height! You who have done great things, 20Though You have made me see many troubles and distresses, You will return and revive us; even from the depths of the earth, You will return and bring me up. 21You will increase my honor, and surrounding me, You will comfort me. 22I will also praise You with the harp for Your faithfulness, O my God; I will make music to You with the lyre, 23My lips will shout for joy when when I sing praises to You, even my soul, 24My tongue will also utter Your righteousness all the day, for they have been put to shame, for they are humiliated—those seeking my harm.
