Endow the King with Your Justice
(1 Kings 3:1–15; 2 Chronicles 1:1–13; Psalm 45:1–17)

1Of Solomon.

1 O God, give Your judgments to the king,

and Your justice to the son of the king.

2May he judge Your people with righteousness,

and Your lowly ones with judgment.

3The mountains will carry peace to the people,

and the hills justice.

4He will judge for the lowly ones of the people;

he will save the sons of the needy,

and will crush the one oppressing.

5They will fear You† with the sun,

and before the face of the moon,

from generation to generations.

6He will come down like rain upon freshly cut grass,

like showers dropping on the earth.

7In his days the righteous will sprout forth,

and an abundance of peace,

until the moon is no more.

8And he will rule from sea to sea,

and from the River† to the ends of the earth.

9Before him the desert dwellers will bow down,

and his enemies will lick the dust.

10The kings of Tarshish and the isles will return a gift;

the kings of Sheba and Seba will bring near a gift.

11And all kings will bow low before him;

all nations will serve him!

12For he will deliver the needy one crying out,

and the poor one without a helper to him.

13He will have pity on the poor and needy,

and he will save the souls of the needy.

14From oppression and from violence he will redeem their soul,

and their blood will be precious in his eyes.

15Long may he live,

and it shall be given to him from the gold of Sheba;

and prayer shall be made for him continually;

all the day he shall be blessed.

16There shall be an abundance of grain in the land;

on the top of the mountains it shall wave,

its fruit like Lebanon;

and the people of the city shall flourish like the grass of the earth.

17His name shall be forever;

unto the turning of the sun his name shall increase;†

and all nations shall be blessed in him,

they shall call him blessed.

18Blessed be YHWH God, the God of Israel,

the One doing marvelous deeds—Him alone!

19And blessed be the name of His glory forever;.

And let all the earth be filled with His glory!
