Good News Translation
That is the gospel, the message that I preached to you. You are saved by the gospel if you hold firmly to it--unless it was for nothing that you believed.

through which also you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message that I proclaimed to you—unless you have come to believe in vain.

You will be saved by this message, if you hold firmly to it. But if you don't, your faith was all for nothing.
