2 Samuel 3:35
Good News Translation
All day long the people tried to get David to eat something, but he made a solemn promise, "May God strike me dead if I eat anything before the day is over!"

Then they brought some food to David and told him he would feel better if he had something to eat. It was still daytime, and David said, "I swear to God that I won't take a bite of bread or anything else until sunset!"
