Isaiah 47:8
Good News Translation
"Listen to this, you lover of pleasure, you that think you are safe and secure. You claim you are as great as God--that there is no one else like you. You thought that you would never be a widow or suffer the loss of your children.

Now therefore hear this, you lover of pleasures, who sit securely, who say in your heart, “I am, and there is no one besides me; I shall not sit as a widow or know the loss of children”—

You think that you alone are all-powerful, that you won't be a widow or lose your children. All you care about is pleasure, but listen to what I say.
