26Jesus answered them and said: Amen, amen, I say to you, you seek me, not because you have seen miracles, but because you did eat of the loaves and were filled. 27Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that which endureth unto life everlasting, which the Son of man will give you. For him hath God, the Father, sealed. 28They said therefore unto him: What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?…
Forsake childishness, and live, and walk by the ways of prudence.
Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your labour for that which doth not satisfy you? Hearken diligently to me, and eat that which is good, and your soul shall be delighted in fatness.
And Jesus saith to him: The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the just, into life everlasting.
But one thing is necessary. Mary hath chosen the best part, which shall not be taken away from her.
That whosoever believeth in him may not perish, but may have life everlasting.
He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
But the water that I will give him shall become in him a fountain of water, springing up into life everlasting.
They said therefore unto him: What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?
And this is the will of my Father that sent me: that every one who seeth the Son and believeth in him may have life everlasting. And I will raise him up in the last day.
Amen, amen, I say unto you: He that believeth in me hath everlasting life.
Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen, I say unto you: except you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you.
If then you shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
And I give them life everlasting: and they shall not perish for ever. And no man shall pluck them out of my hand.
As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he may give eternal life to all whom thou hast given him.
