1Woe to the provoking and redeemed city, the dove.2She hath not hearkened to the voice, neither hath she received discipline: she hath not trusted in the Lord, she drew not near to her God.…
But the heart of this people is become hard of belief and provoking, they are revolted and gone away.
For thus saith the Lord of hosts: Hew down her trees, cast up a trench about Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited, all oppression is in the midst of her.
They have done these things to thee, because thou hast played the harlot with the nations among which thou wast defiled with their idols.
