Then Isaiah said, "Hear now, O house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of men? Will you try the patience of my God as well?

Is it not enough for you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel and brought you near to Himself to perform the work at the LORD's tabernacle and to stand before the congregation to minister to them?
Your arrows pierce the hearts of the king's foes; the nations fall beneath your feet.
I hate your New Moons and your appointed feasts; they have become a burden to Me; I am weary of bearing them.
When it became known to the house of David that Aram was in league with Ephraim, the hearts of Ahaz and his people trembled like trees in the forest shaken by the wind.
But Ahaz replied, "I will not ask; I will not test the LORD."
I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David. What he opens, no one can shut; what he shuts, no one can open.
O LORD, You are my God. I will exalt You; I will praise Your name. For You have worked wonders--plans formed long ago in perfect faithfulness.
You have bought Me no sweet cane with your silver, nor have you satisfied Me with the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened Me with your sins; you have wearied Me with your iniquities.
O house of David, this is what the LORD says: 'Administer justice every morning, and rescue the victim of robbery from the hand of his oppressor, or My wrath will go forth like fire and burn with none to extinguish it because of their evil deeds.
So the LORD could no longer endure the evil deeds and detestable acts you committed, and your land became a desolation, a horror, and an object of cursing, without inhabitant, as it is today.
Then in the nations to which they have been carried captive, your survivors will remember Me--how I have been grieved by their adulterous hearts that turned away from Me, and by their eyes that lusted after idols. So they will loathe themselves for the evil they have done and for all their abominations.
Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture? Must you also trample the rest of the pasture with your feet? Is not it enough for you to drink the clear water? Must you also muddy the rest with your feet?
