Psalm 13
Christian Standard BibleEnglish Standard Version
1How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?1How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
2How long will I store up anxious concerns within me, agony in my mind every day? How long will my enemy dominate me?2How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
3Consider me and answer, LORD my God. Restore brightness to my eyes; otherwise, I will sleep in death.3Consider and answer me, O LORD my God; light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,
4My enemy will say, "I have triumphed over him," and my foes will rejoice because I am shaken.4lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,” lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.
5But I have trusted in your faithful love; my heart will rejoice in your deliverance.5But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
6I will sing to the LORD because he has treated me generously.6I will sing to the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me.
