Psalm 30
ESV Parallel HCSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionHolman Christian Standard Bible
I will extol you, O LORD, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me.1A psalm; a dedication song for the house. Davidic. I will exalt You, LORD, because You have lifted me up and have not allowed my enemies to triumph over me.
O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.2 LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me.
O LORD, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.3 LORD, You brought me up from Sheol; You spared me from among those going down to the Pit.
Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.4Sing to Yahweh, you His faithful ones, and praise His holy name.
For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.5For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor, a lifetime. Weeping may spend the night, but there is joy in the morning.
As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.”6When I was secure, I said," I will never be shaken."
By your favor, O LORD, you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face; I was dismayed.7 LORD, when You showed Your favor, You made me stand like a strong mountain; when You hid Your face, I was terrified.
To you, O LORD, I cry, and to the Lord I plead for mercy:8 LORD, I called to You; I sought favor from my Lord:"
“What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness?9What gain is there in my death, if I go down to the Pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it proclaim Your truth?
Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me! O LORD, be my helper!”10 LORD, listen and be gracious to me; LORD, be my helper."
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,11You turned my lament into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever!12so that I can sing to You and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise You forever.
