For the choir director. A song. A psalm. Shout joyfully to God, all the earth! 1For the choirmaster. A song. A Psalm. Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth!
Sing about the glory of His name; make His praise glorious. 2Sing the glory of His name; make His praise glorious.
Say to God, "How awe-inspiring are Your works! Your enemies will cringe before You because of Your great strength. 3Say to God, “How awesome are Your deeds! So great is Your power that Your enemies cower before You.
All the earth will worship You and sing praise to You. They will sing praise to Your name." Selah 4All the earth bows down to You; they sing praise to You; they sing praise to Your name.” Selah
Come and see the wonders of God; His acts for humanity are awe-inspiring. 5Come and see the works of God; how awesome are His deeds toward mankind.
He turned the sea into dry land, and they crossed the river on foot. There we rejoiced in Him. 6He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the waters on foot; there we rejoiced in Him.
He rules forever by His might; He keeps His eye on the nations. The rebellious should not exalt themselves. Selah 7He rules forever by His power; His eyes watch the nations. Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah
Praise our God, you peoples; let the sound of His praise be heard. 8Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of His praise be heard.
He keeps us alive and does not allow our feet to slip. 9He preserves our lives and keeps our feet from slipping.
For You, God, tested us; You refined us as silver is refined. 10For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us like silver.
You lured us into a trap; You placed burdens on our backs. 11You led us into the net; You laid burdens on our backs.
You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but You brought us out to abundance. 12You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but You brought us into abundance.
I will enter Your house with burnt offerings; I will pay You my vows 13I will enter Your house with burnt offerings; I will fulfill my vows to You—
that my lips promised and my mouth spoke during my distress. 14the vows that my lips promised and my mouth spoke in my distress.
I will offer You fattened sheep as burnt offerings, with the fragrant smoke of rams; I will sacrifice oxen with goats. Selah 15I will offer You fatlings as burnt offerings, with the fragrant smoke of rams; I will offer bulls and goats. Selah
Come and listen, all who fear God, and I will tell what He has done for me. 16Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for me.
I cried out to Him with my mouth, and praise was on my tongue. 17I cried out to Him with my mouth and praised Him with my tongue.
If I had been aware of malice in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. 18If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
However, God has listened; He has paid attention to the sound of my prayer. 19But God has surely heard; He has attended to the sound of my prayer.
May God be praised! He has not turned away my prayer or turned His faithful love from me. 20Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld from me His loving devotion!
