Psalm 86
HCSB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleEnglish Standard Version
A Davidic prayer. Listen, LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. 1Incline your ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
Protect my life, for I am faithful. You are my God; save Your servant who trusts in You. 2Preserve my life, for I am godly; save your servant, who trusts in you—you are my God.
Be gracious to me, Lord, for I call to You all day long. 3Be gracious to me, O Lord, for to you do I cry all the day.
Bring joy to Your servant's life, because I turn to You, Lord. 4Gladden the soul of your servant, for to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
For You, Lord, are kind and ready to forgive, rich in faithful love to all who call on You. 5For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.
LORD, hear my prayer; listen to my plea for mercy. 6Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace.
I call on You in the day of my distress, for You will answer me. 7In the day of my trouble I call upon you, for you answer me.
Lord, there is no one like You among the gods, and there are no works like Yours. 8There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours.
All the nations You have made will come and bow down before You, Lord, and will honor Your name. 9All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name.
For You are great and perform wonders; You alone are God. 10For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God.
Teach me Your way, Yahweh, and I will live by Your truth. Give me an undivided mind to fear Your name. 11Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.
I will praise You with all my heart, Lord my God, and will honor Your name forever. 12I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.
For Your faithful love for me is great, and You deliver my life from the depths of Sheol. 13For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.
God, arrogant people have attacked me; a gang of ruthless men seeks my life. They have no regard for You. 14O God, insolent men have risen up against me; a band of ruthless men seeks my life, and they do not set you before them.
But You, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in faithful love and truth. 15But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
Turn to me and be gracious to me. Give Your strength to Your servant; save the son of Your female servant. 16Turn to me and be gracious to me; give your strength to your servant, and save the son of your maidservant.
Show me a sign of Your goodness; my enemies will see and be put to shame because You, LORD, have helped and comforted me. 17Show me a sign of your favor, that those who hate me may see and be put to shame because you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me.
