| 1A psalm; a dedication song for the house. Davidic. I will exalt You, LORD, because You have lifted me up and have not allowed my enemies to triumph over me. | 1A psalm. A song. For the dedication of the temple. Of David. I will exalt you, LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. |
| 2 LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me. | 2LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. |
| 3 LORD, You brought me up from Sheol; You spared me from among those going down to the Pit. | 3You, LORD, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit. |
| 4Sing to Yahweh, you His faithful ones, and praise His holy name. | 4Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people; praise his holy name. |
| 5For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor, a lifetime. Weeping may spend the night, but there is joy in the morning. | 5For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. |

| 9What gain is there in my death, if I go down to the Pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it proclaim Your truth? | 9"What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness? |
| 10 LORD, listen and be gracious to me; LORD, be my helper." | 10Hear, LORD, and be merciful to me; LORD, be my help." |
