International Standard VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart, I will declare all your wonderful deeds.1For the choir director; on Muth-labben. A Psalm of David. I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders.
I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praises to your name, Most High!2I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
When my enemies turn back, they will stumble and perish before you.3When my enemies turn back, They stumble and perish before You.
For you have brought about justice for me and my cause; you sit on the throne judging righteously.4For You have maintained my just cause; You have sat on the throne judging righteously.
You rebuked the nations, you destroyed the wicked, you wiped out their name forever and ever.5You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked; You have blotted out their name forever and ever.
The enemy has perished, reduced to ruins forever. You uprooted their cities, the very memory of them vanished.6The enemy has come to an end in perpetual ruins, And You have uprooted the cities; The very memory of them has perished.
But the LORD sits on his throne forever; his throne is established for judgment.7But the LORD abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment,
He will judge the world righteously and make just decisions for the people.8And He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity.
The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of distress.9The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble;
Those who know your name will trust you, for you have not forsaken those who seek you, LORD.10And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.
Sing praises to the LORD who dwells in Zion; declare his mighty deeds among the peoples.11Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion; Declare among the peoples His deeds.
As an avenger of blood, he remembers them; he has not forgotten the cry of the afflicted.12For He who requires blood remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted.
Be gracious to me, LORD, take note of my affliction, because of those who hate me. You snatch me away from the gates of death,13Be gracious to me, O LORD; See my affliction from those who hate me, You who lift me up from the gates of death,
so I may declare everything for which you should be praised in the gates of the daughter of Zion, so I will rejoice in your deliverance.14That I may tell of all Your praises, That in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in Your salvation.
The nations have sunk down into the pit they made, their feet are ensnared in the trap they set.15The nations have sunk down in the pit which they have made; In the net which they hid, their own foot has been caught.
The LORD has made himself known, executing judgment. The wicked are ensnared by what their hands have made. Interlude 16The LORD has made Himself known; He has executed judgment. In the work of his own hands the wicked is snared. Higgaion Selah.
The wicked will turn back to where the dead are — all the nations that have forgotten God.17The wicked will return to Sheol, Even all the nations who forget God.
For he will not always overlook the plight of the poor, nor will the hope of the afflicted perish forever.18For the needy will not always be forgotten, Nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever.
Rise up, LORD, do not let man prevail! The nations will be judged in your presence.19Arise, O LORD, do not let man prevail; Let the nations be judged before You.
Make them afraid, LORD, Let the nations know that they are only human. Interlude20Put them in fear, O LORD; Let the nations know that they are but men. Selah.
