Psalm 87
ISV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNew Living Translation
1God's foundation is in the holy mountains.1On the holy mountain stands the city founded by the LORD.
2The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than the dwellings of Jacob.2He loves the city of Jerusalem more than any other city in Israel.
3Glorious things are spoken about you, city of God. Interlude3O city of God, what glorious things are said of you! Interlude
4I will mention Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me— including Philistia, Tyre, and Ethiopia — "This one was born there," they say. 4I will count Egypt and Babylon among those who know me— also Philistia and Tyre, and even distant Ethiopia. They have all become citizens of Jerusalem!
5Indeed, about Zion it will be said: "More than one person was born in it," and "The Most High himself did it."5Regarding Jerusalem it will be said, “Everyone enjoys the rights of citizenship there.” And the Most High will personally bless this city.
6The LORD will record, as he registers the peoples, "This one was born there." Interlude6When the LORD registers the nations, he will say, “They have all become citizens of Jerusalem.” Interlude
7Then singers, as they play their instruments, will declare, "All my roots are in you."7The people will play flutes and sing, “The source of my life springs from Jerusalem!”
