King James BibleHolman Christian Standard Bible
To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us? Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.1For the choir director: with stringed instruments. A Davidic Maskil. When the Ziphites went and said to Saul, "Is David not hiding among us?" God, save me by Your name, and vindicate me by Your might!
Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.2God, hear my prayer; listen to the words of my mouth.
For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah.3For strangers rise up against me, and violent men seek my life. They have no regard for God. Selah
Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.4God is my helper; the Lord is the sustainer of my life.
He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.5He will repay my adversaries for their evil. Because of Your faithfulness, annihilate them.
I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good.6I will sacrifice a freewill offering to You. I will praise Your name, Yahweh, because it is good.
For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.7For He has delivered me from every trouble, and my eye has looked down on my enemies.
