King James BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us? Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.1For the choir director; on stringed instruments. A Maskil of David, when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, "Is not David hiding himself among us?" Save me, O God, by Your name, And vindicate me by Your power.
Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.2Hear my prayer, O God; Give ear to the words of my mouth.
For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah.3For strangers have risen against me And violent men have sought my life; They have not set God before them. Selah.
Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.4Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is the sustainer of my soul.
He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.5He will recompense the evil to my foes; Destroy them in Your faithfulness.
I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good.6Willingly I will sacrifice to You; I will give thanks to Your name, O LORD, for it is good.
For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.7For He has delivered me from all trouble, And my eye has looked with satisfaction upon my enemies.
