A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.1By David. Praise the LORD, O my soul! With all that is within me, praise his holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:2Praise the LORD, O my soul! Do not forget all his kind deeds!
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;3He is the one who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases,
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;4who delivers your life from the Pit, who crowns you with his loyal love and compassion,
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.5who satisfies your life with good things, so your youth is renewed like an eagle's.
The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.6The LORD does what is fair, and executes justice for all the oppressed.
He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.7The LORD revealed his faithful acts to Moses, his deeds to the Israelites.
The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.8The LORD is compassionate and merciful; he is patient and demonstrates great loyal love.
He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.9He does not always accuse, and does not stay angry.
He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.10He does not deal with us as our sins deserve; he does not repay us as our misdeeds deserve.
For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.11For as the skies are high above the earth, so his loyal love towers over his faithful followers.
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.12As far as the eastern horizon is from the west, so he removes the guilt of our rebellious actions from us.
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.13As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on his faithful followers.
For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.14For he knows what we are made of; he realizes we are made of clay.
As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.15A person's life is like grass. Like a flower in the field it flourishes,
For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.16but when the hot wind blows by, it disappears, and one can no longer even spot the place where it once grew.
But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;17But the LORD continually shows loyal love to his faithful followers, and is faithful to their descendants,
To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.18to those who keep his covenant, who are careful to obey his commands.
The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.19The LORD has established his throne in heaven; his kingdom extends over everything.
Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.20Praise the LORD, you angels of his, you powerful warriors who carry out his decrees and obey his orders!
Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.21Praise the LORD, all you warriors of his, you servants of his who carry out his desires!
Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.22Praise the LORD, all that he has made, in all the regions of his kingdom! Praise the LORD, O my soul!
