Psalm 76
KJV Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew International Version
To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song of Asaph. In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.1For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm of Asaph. A song. God is renowned in Judah; in Israel his name is great.
In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.2His tent is in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.
There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.3There he broke the flashing arrows, the shields and the swords, the weapons of war.
Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.4You are radiant with light, more majestic than mountains rich with game.
The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.5The valiant lie plundered, they sleep their last sleep; not one of the warriors can lift his hands.
At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.6At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both horse and chariot lie still.
Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?7It is you alone who are to be feared. Who can stand before you when you are angry?
Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,8From heaven you pronounced judgment, and the land feared and was quiet--
When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.9when you, God, rose up to judge, to save all the afflicted of the land.
Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.10Surely your wrath against mankind brings you praise, and the survivors of your wrath are restrained.
Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.11Make vows to the LORD your God and fulfill them; let all the neighboring lands bring gifts to the One to be feared.
He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.12He breaks the spirit of rulers; he is feared by the kings of the earth.
