Psalm 120
KJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew Living Translation
1A Song of degrees. In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.1I took my troubles to the LORD; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer.
2Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.2Rescue me, O LORD, from liars and from all deceitful people.
3What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?3O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment?
4Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.4You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals.
5Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!5How I suffer in far-off Meshech. It pains me to live in distant Kedar.
6My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.6I am tired of living among people who hate peace.
7I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.7I search for peace; but when I speak of peace, they want war!
