Then the LORD said to Noah, "Enter the ark, you and all your household, for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this time.1Then the LORD said to Noah, "Enter the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you alone are righteous before Me in this generation.
"You shall take with you of every clean animal by sevens, a male and his female; and of the animals that are not clean two, a male and his female;2You are to take with you seven pairs, a male and its female, of all the clean animals, and two of the animals that are not clean, a male and its female,
also of the birds of the sky, by sevens, male and female, to keep offspring alive on the face of all the earth.3and seven pairs, male and female, of the birds of the sky--in order to keep offspring alive on the face of the whole earth.
"For after seven more days, I will send rain on the earth forty days and forty nights; and I will blot out from the face of the land every living thing that I have made."4Seven days from now I will make it rain on the earth 40 days and 40 nights, and I will wipe off from the face of the earth every living thing I have made."
Noah did according to all that the LORD had commanded him.5And Noah did everything that the LORD commanded him.
Now Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of water came upon the earth.6Noah was 600 years old when the flood came and water covered the earth.
Then Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him entered the ark because of the water of the flood.7So Noah, his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives entered the ark because of the waters of the flood.
Of clean animals and animals that are not clean and birds and everything that creeps on the ground,8From the clean animals, unclean animals, birds, and every creature that crawls on the ground,
there went into the ark to Noah by twos, male and female, as God had commanded Noah.9two of each, male and female, entered the ark with Noah, just as God had commanded him.
It came about after the seven days, that the water of the flood came upon the earth.10Seven days later the waters of the flood came on the earth.
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened.11In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the sources of the watery depths burst open, the floodgates of the sky were opened,
The rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights.12and the rain fell on the earth 40 days and 40 nights.
On the very same day Noah and Shem and Ham and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark,13On that same day Noah along with his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, Noah's wife, and his three sons' wives entered the ark with him.
they and every beast after its kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, all sorts of birds.14They entered it with all the wildlife according to their kinds, all livestock according to their kinds, the creatures that crawl on the earth according to their kinds, all birds, every fowl, and everything with wings according to their kinds.
So they went into the ark to Noah, by twos of all flesh in which was the breath of life.15Two of all flesh that has the breath of life in it entered the ark with Noah.
Those that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered as God had commanded him; and the LORD closed it behind him.16Those that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered just as God had commanded him. Then the LORD shut him in.
Then the flood came upon the earth for forty days, and the water increased and lifted up the ark, so that it rose above the earth.17The flood continued for 40 days on the earth; the waters increased and lifted up the ark so that it rose above the earth.
The water prevailed and increased greatly upon the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water.18The waters surged and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water.
The water prevailed more and more upon the earth, so that all the high mountains everywhere under the heavens were covered.19Then the waters surged even higher on the earth, and all the high mountains under the whole sky were covered.
The water prevailed fifteen cubits higher, and the mountains were covered.20The mountains were covered as the waters surged above them more than 20 feet.
All flesh that moved on the earth perished, birds and cattle and beasts and every swarming thing that swarms upon the earth, and all mankind;21Every creature perished--those that crawl on the earth, birds, livestock, wildlife, and those that swarm on the earth, as well as all mankind.
of all that was on the dry land, all in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, died.22Everything with the breath of the spirit of life in its nostrils--everything on dry land died.
Thus He blotted out every living thing that was upon the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky, and they were blotted out from the earth; and only Noah was left, together with those that were with him in the ark.23He wiped out every living thing that was on the surface of the ground, from mankind to livestock, to creatures that crawl, to the birds of the sky, and they were wiped off the earth. Only Noah was left, and those that were with him in the ark.
The water prevailed upon the earth one hundred and fifty days.24And the waters surged on the earth 150 days.
