New American Standard Bible 1995NET Bible
Then the LORD said to Noah, "Enter the ark, you and all your household, for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this time.1The LORD said to Noah, "Come into the ark, you and all your household, for I consider you godly among this generation.
"You shall take with you of every clean animal by sevens, a male and his female; and of the animals that are not clean two, a male and his female;2You must take with you seven of every kind of clean animal, the male and its mate, two of every kind of unclean animal, the male and its mate,
also of the birds of the sky, by sevens, male and female, to keep offspring alive on the face of all the earth.3and also seven of every kind of bird in the sky, male and female, to preserve their offspring on the face of the earth.
"For after seven more days, I will send rain on the earth forty days and forty nights; and I will blot out from the face of the land every living thing that I have made."4For in seven days I will cause it to rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the ground every living thing that I have made."
Noah did according to all that the LORD had commanded him.5And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him.
Now Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of water came upon the earth.6Noah was 600 years old when the floodwaters engulfed the earth.
Then Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him entered the ark because of the water of the flood.7Noah entered the ark along with his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives because of the floodwaters.
Of clean animals and animals that are not clean and birds and everything that creeps on the ground,8Pairs of clean animals, of unclean animals, of birds, and of everything that creeps along the ground,
there went into the ark to Noah by twos, male and female, as God had commanded Noah.9male and female, came into the ark to Noah, just as God had commanded him.
It came about after the seven days, that the water of the flood came upon the earth.10And after seven days the floodwaters engulfed the earth.
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened.11In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month--on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst open and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.
The rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights.12And the rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.
On the very same day Noah and Shem and Ham and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark,13On that very day Noah entered the ark, accompanied by his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, along with his wife and his sons' three wives.
they and every beast after its kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, all sorts of birds.14They entered, along with every living creature after its kind, every animal after its kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, everything with wings.
So they went into the ark to Noah, by twos of all flesh in which was the breath of life.15Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life came into the ark to Noah.
Those that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered as God had commanded him; and the LORD closed it behind him.16Those that entered were male and female, just as God commanded him. Then the LORD shut him in.
Then the flood came upon the earth for forty days, and the water increased and lifted up the ark, so that it rose above the earth.17The flood engulfed the earth for forty days. As the waters increased, they lifted the ark and raised it above the earth.
The water prevailed and increased greatly upon the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water.18The waters completely overwhelmed the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the waters.
The water prevailed more and more upon the earth, so that all the high mountains everywhere under the heavens were covered.19The waters completely inundated the earth so that even all the high mountains under the entire sky were covered.
The water prevailed fifteen cubits higher, and the mountains were covered.20The waters rose more than twenty feet above the mountains.
All flesh that moved on the earth perished, birds and cattle and beasts and every swarming thing that swarms upon the earth, and all mankind;21And all living things that moved on the earth died, including the birds, domestic animals, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all humankind.
of all that was on the dry land, all in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, died.22Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.
Thus He blotted out every living thing that was upon the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky, and they were blotted out from the earth; and only Noah was left, together with those that were with him in the ark.23So the LORD destroyed every living thing that was on the surface of the ground, including people, animals, creatures that creep along the ground, and birds of the sky. They were wiped off the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark survived.
The water prevailed upon the earth one hundred and fifty days.24The waters prevailed over the earth for 150 days.
