Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave.1In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it.2And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.3His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men.4And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified.5And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
"He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.6He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
"Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you."7And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples.8And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him.9And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid; go and take word to My brethren to leave for Galilee, and there they will see Me."10Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
Now while they were on their way, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all that had happened.11Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
And when they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,12And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
and said, "You are to say, 'His disciples came by night and stole Him away while we were asleep.'13Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
"And if this should come to the governor's ears, we will win him over and keep you out of trouble."14And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
And they took the money and did as they had been instructed; and this story was widely spread among the Jews, and is to this day.15So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated.16Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful.17And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
