New American Standard Bible 1995King James Bible
For the choir director. A Psalm of David. How blessed is he who considers the helpless; The LORD will deliver him in a day of trouble.1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
The LORD will protect him and keep him alive, And he shall be called blessed upon the earth; And do not give him over to the desire of his enemies.2The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
The LORD will sustain him upon his sickbed; In his illness, You restore him to health.3The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.
As for me, I said, "O LORD, be gracious to me; Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You."4I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
My enemies speak evil against me, "When will he die, and his name perish?"5Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?
And when he comes to see me, he speaks falsehood; His heart gathers wickedness to itself; When he goes outside, he tells it.6And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
All who hate me whisper together against me; Against me they devise my hurt, saying,7All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.
"A wicked thing is poured out upon him, That when he lies down, he will not rise up again."8An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.
Even my close friend in whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me.9Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
But You, O LORD, be gracious to me and raise me up, That I may repay them.10But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
By this I know that You are pleased with me, Because my enemy does not shout in triumph over me.11By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, And You set me in Your presence forever.12And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.
Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, From everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.13Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
