Let love of the brethren continue.1Brotherly love must continue.
Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.2Do not neglect hospitality, because through it some have entertained angels without knowing it.
Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body.3Remember those in prison as though you were in prison with them, and those ill-treated as though you too felt their torment.
Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.4Marriage must be honored among all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge sexually immoral people and adulterers.
Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,"5Your conduct must be free from the love of money and you must be content with what you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you and I will never abandon you."
so that we confidently say, "THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT WILL MAN DO TO ME?"6So we can say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"
Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith.7Remember your leaders, who spoke God's message to you; reflect on the outcome of their lives and imitate their faith.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever!
Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited.9Do not be carried away by all sorts of strange teachings. For it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not ritual meals, which have never benefited those who participated in them.
We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.10We have an altar that those who serve in the tabernacle have no right to eat from.
For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned outside the camp.11For the bodies of those animals whose blood the high priest brings into the sanctuary as an offering for sin are burned outside the camp.
Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate.12Therefore, to sanctify the people by his own blood, Jesus also suffered outside the camp.
So, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.13We must go out to him, then, outside the camp, bearing the abuse he experienced.
For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come.14For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.
Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.15Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, acknowledging his name.
And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.16And do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.17Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls and will give an account for their work. Let them do this with joy and not with complaints, for this would be no advantage for you.
Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a good conscience, desiring to conduct ourselves honorably in all things.18Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to conduct ourselves rightly in every respect.
And I urge you all the more to do this, so that I may be restored to you the sooner.19I especially ask you to pray that I may be restored to you very soon.
Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord,20Now may the God of peace who by the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus Christ,
equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.21equip you with every good thing to do his will, working in us what is pleasing before him through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
But I urge you, brethren, bear with this word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.22Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, bear with my message of exhortation, for in fact I have written to you briefly.
Take notice that our brother Timothy has been released, with whom, if he comes soon, I will see you.23You should know that our brother Timothy has been released. If he comes soon, he will be with me when I see you.
Greet all of your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.24Greetings to all your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy send you greetings.
Grace be with you all.25Grace be with you all.
