Psalm 71
NASB Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995NET Bible
In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge; Let me never be ashamed.1In you, O LORD, I have taken shelter! Never let me be humiliated!
In Your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; Incline Your ear to me and save me.2Vindicate me by rescuing me! Listen to me! Deliver me!
Be to me a rock of habitation to which I may continually come; You have given commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress.3Be my protector and refuge, a stronghold where I can be safe! For you are my high ridge and my stronghold.
Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, Out of the grasp of the wrongdoer and ruthless man,4My God, rescue me from the power of the wicked, from the hand of the cruel oppressor!
For You are my hope; O Lord GOD, You are my confidence from my youth.5For you give me confidence, O Lord; O LORD, I have trusted in you since I was young.
By You I have been sustained from my birth; You are He who took me from my mother's womb; My praise is continually of You.6I have leaned on you since birth; you pulled me from my mother's womb. I praise you continually.
I have become a marvel to many, For You are my strong refuge.7Many are appalled when they see me, but you are my secure shelter.
My mouth is filled with Your praise And with Your glory all day long.8I praise you constantly and speak of your splendor all day long.
Do not cast me off in the time of old age; Do not forsake me when my strength fails.9Do not reject me in my old age! When my strength fails, do not abandon me!
For my enemies have spoken against me; And those who watch for my life have consulted together,10For my enemies talk about me; those waiting for a chance to kill me plot my demise.
Saying, "God has forsaken him; Pursue and seize him, for there is no one to deliver."11They say, "God has abandoned him. Run and seize him, for there is no one who will rescue him!"
O God, do not be far from me; O my God, hasten to my help!12O God, do not remain far away from me! My God, hurry and help me!
Let those who are adversaries of my soul be ashamed and consumed; Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor, who seek to injure me.13May my accusers be humiliated and defeated! May those who want to harm me be covered with scorn and disgrace!
But as for me, I will hope continually, And will praise You yet more and more.14As for me, I will wait continually, and will continue to praise you.
My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And of Your salvation all day long; For I do not know the sum of them.15I will tell about your justice, and all day long proclaim your salvation, though I cannot fathom its full extent.
I will come with the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.16I will come and tell about the mighty acts of the sovereign LORD. I will proclaim your justice--yours alone.
O God, You have taught me from my youth, And I still declare Your wondrous deeds.17O God, you have taught me since I was young, and I am still declaring your amazing deeds.
And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.18Even when I am old and gray, O God, do not abandon me, until I tell the next generation about your strength, and those coming after me about your power.
For Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heavens, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You?19Your justice, O God, extends to the skies above; you have done great things. O God, who can compare to you?
You who have shown me many troubles and distresses Will revive me again, And will bring me up again from the depths of the earth.20Though you have allowed me to experience much trouble and distress, revive me once again! Bring me up once again from the depths of the earth!
May You increase my greatness And turn to comfort me.21Raise me to a position of great honor! Turn and comfort me!
I will also praise You with a harp, Even Your truth, O my God; To You I will sing praises with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.22I will express my thanks to you with a stringed instrument, praising your faithfulness, O my God! I will sing praises to you accompanied by a harp, O Holy One of Israel!
My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You; And my soul, which You have redeemed.23My lips will shout for joy! Yes, I will sing your praises! I will praise you when you rescue me!
My tongue also will utter Your righteousness all day long; For they are ashamed, for they are humiliated who seek my hurt.24All day long my tongue will also tell about your justice, for those who want to harm me will be embarrassed and ashamed.
