When Jesus came down from the mountain, large crowds followed Him.1When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him.
And a leper came to Him and bowed down before Him, and said, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean."2A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean."
Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing; be cleansed." And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.3Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.
And Jesus said to him, "See that you tell no one; but go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."4Then Jesus said to him, "See that you don't tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."
And when Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, imploring Him,5When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help.
and saying, "Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, fearfully tormented."6"Lord," he said, "my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly."
Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him."7Jesus said to him, "Shall I come and heal him?"
But the centurion said, "Lord, I am not worthy for You to come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed.8The centurion replied, "Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
"For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, 'Go!' and he goes, and to another, 'Come!' and he comes, and to my slave, 'Do this!' and he does it."9For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and that one, 'Come,' and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."
Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled and said to those who were following, "Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith with anyone in Israel.10When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, "Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.
"I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven;11I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."12But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
And Jesus said to the centurion, "Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed." And the servant was healed that very moment.13Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would." And his servant was healed at that moment.
When Jesus came into Peter's home, He saw his mother-in-law lying sick in bed with a fever.14When Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever.
He touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she got up and waited on Him.15He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him.
When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill.16When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.
This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet: "HE HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES AND CARRIED AWAY OUR DISEASES."17This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases."
Now when Jesus saw a crowd around Him, He gave orders to depart to the other side of the sea.18When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side of the lake.
Then a scribe came and said to Him, "Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go."19Then a teacher of the law came to him and said, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go."
Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."20Jesus replied, "Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."
Another of the disciples said to Him, "Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father."21Another disciple said to him, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father."
But Jesus said to him, "Follow Me, and allow the dead to bury their own dead."22But Jesus told him, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."
When He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him.23Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him.
And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered with the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep.24Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.
And they came to Him and woke Him, saying, "Save us, Lord; we are perishing!"25The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!"
He said to them, "Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?" Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.26He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
The men were amazed, and said, "What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?"27The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!"
When He came to the other side into the country of the Gadarenes, two men who were demon-possessed met Him as they were coming out of the tombs. They were so extremely violent that no one could pass by that way.28When he arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way.
And they cried out, saying, "What business do we have with each other, Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?"29"What do you want with us, Son of God?" they shouted. "Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?"
Now there was a herd of many swine feeding at a distance from them.30Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding.
The demons began to entreat Him, saying, "If You are going to cast us out, send us into the herd of swine."31The demons begged Jesus, "If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs."
And He said to them, "Go!" And they came out and went into the swine, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and perished in the waters.32He said to them, "Go!" So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water.
The herdsmen ran away, and went to the city and reported everything, including what had happened to the demoniacs.33Those tending the pigs ran off, went into the town and reported all this, including what had happened to the demon-possessed men.
And behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus; and when they saw Him, they implored Him to leave their region.34Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they pleaded with him to leave their region.
