NASB Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995New International Version
A Psalm of David. Do not fret because of evildoers, Be not envious toward wrongdoers.1Of David. Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong;
For they will wither quickly like the grass And fade like the green herb.2for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.
Trust in the LORD and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.3Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.4Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.5Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light And your judgment as the noonday.6He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.
Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.7Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
Cease from anger and forsake wrath; Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing.8Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret--it leads only to evil.
For evildoers will be cut off, But those who wait for the LORD, they will inherit the land.9For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.
Yet a little while and the wicked man will be no more; And you will look carefully for his place and he will not be there.10A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.
But the humble will inherit the land And will delight themselves in abundant prosperity.11But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity.
The wicked plots against the righteous And gnashes at him with his teeth.12The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them;
The Lord laughs at him, For He sees his day is coming.13but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming.
The wicked have drawn the sword and bent their bow To cast down the afflicted and the needy, To slay those who are upright in conduct.14The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright.
Their sword will enter their own heart, And their bows will be broken.15But their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken.
Better is the little of the righteous Than the abundance of many wicked.16Better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked;
For the arms of the wicked will be broken, But the LORD sustains the righteous.17for the power of the wicked will be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous.
The LORD knows the days of the blameless, And their inheritance will be forever.18The blameless spend their days under the LORD's care, and their inheritance will endure forever.
They will not be ashamed in the time of evil, And in the days of famine they will have abundance.19In times of disaster they will not wither; in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.
But the wicked will perish; And the enemies of the LORD will be like the glory of the pastures, They vanish-- like smoke they vanish away.20But the wicked will perish: Though the LORD's enemies are like the flowers of the field, they will be consumed, they will go up in smoke.
The wicked borrows and does not pay back, But the righteous is gracious and gives.21The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously;
For those blessed by Him will inherit the land, But those cursed by Him will be cut off.22those the LORD blesses will inherit the land, but those he curses will be destroyed.
The steps of a man are established by the LORD, And He delights in his way.23The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him;
When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, Because the LORD is the One who holds his hand.24though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.
I have been young and now I am old, Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken Or his descendants begging bread.25I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.
All day long he is gracious and lends, And his descendants are a blessing.26They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing.
Depart from evil and do good, So you will abide forever.27Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever.
For the LORD loves justice And does not forsake His godly ones; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked will be cut off.28For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. Wrongdoers will be completely destroyed; the offspring of the wicked will perish.
The righteous will inherit the land And dwell in it forever.29The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever.
The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, And his tongue speaks justice.30The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom, and their tongues speak what is just.
The law of his God is in his heart; His steps do not slip.31The law of their God is in their hearts; their feet do not slip.
The wicked spies upon the righteous And seeks to kill him.32The wicked lie in wait for the righteous, intent on putting them to death;
The LORD will not leave him in his hand Or let him be condemned when he is judged.33but the LORD will not leave them in the power of the wicked or let them be condemned when brought to trial.
Wait for the LORD and keep His way, And He will exalt you to inherit the land; When the wicked are cut off, you will see it.34Hope in the LORD and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are destroyed, you will see it.
I have seen a wicked, violent man Spreading himself like a luxuriant tree in its native soil.35I have seen a wicked and ruthless man flourishing like a luxuriant native tree,
Then he passed away, and lo, he was no more; I sought for him, but he could not be found.36but he soon passed away and was no more; though I looked for him, he could not be found.
Mark the blameless man, and behold the upright; For the man of peace will have a posterity.37Consider the blameless, observe the upright; a future awaits those who seek peace.
But transgressors will be altogether destroyed; The posterity of the wicked will be cut off.38But all sinners will be destroyed; there will be no future for the wicked.
But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their strength in time of trouble.39The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The LORD helps them and delivers them; He delivers them from the wicked and saves them, Because they take refuge in Him.40The LORD helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
