The LORD spoke to Moses:1Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
"Command the Israelites to bring to you pure oil of beaten olives for the light, to make a lamp burn continually.2"Command the sons of Israel that they bring to you clear oil from beaten olives for the light, to make a lamp burn continually.
Outside the veil-canopy of the congregation in the Meeting Tent Aaron must arrange it from evening until morning before the LORD continually. This is a perpetual statute throughout your generations.3"Outside the veil of testimony in the tent of meeting, Aaron shall keep it in order from evening to morning before the LORD continually; it shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations.
On the ceremonially pure lampstand he must arrange the lamps before the LORD continually. 4"He shall keep the lamps in order on the pure gold lampstand before the LORD continually.
"You must take choice wheat flour and bake twelve loaves; there must be two tenths of an ephah of flour in each loaf,5"Then you shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes with it; two-tenths of an ephah shall be in each cake.
and you must set them in two rows, six in a row, on the ceremonially pure table before the LORD.6"You shall set them in two rows, six to a row, on the pure gold table before the LORD.
You must put pure frankincense on each row, and it will become a memorial portion for the bread, a gift to the LORD.7"You shall put pure frankincense on each row that it may be a memorial portion for the bread, even an offering by fire to the LORD.
Each Sabbath day Aaron must arrange it before the LORD continually; this portion is from the Israelites as a perpetual covenant.8"Every sabbath day he shall set it in order before the LORD continually; it is an everlasting covenant for the sons of Israel.
It will belong to Aaron and his sons, and they must eat it in a holy place because it is most holy to him, a perpetual allotted portion from the gifts of the LORD." 9"It shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place; for it is most holy to him from the LORD'S offerings by fire, his portion forever."
Now an Israelite woman's son whose father was an Egyptian went out among the Israelites, and the Israelite woman's son and an Israelite man had a fight in the camp.10Now the son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the sons of Israel; and the Israelite woman's son and a man of Israel struggled with each other in the camp.
The Israelite woman's son misused the Name and cursed, so they brought him to Moses. (Now his mother's name was Shelomith daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.)11The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name and cursed. So they brought him to Moses. (Now his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.)
So they placed him in custody until they were able to make a clear legal decision for themselves based on words from the mouth of the LORD. 12They put him in custody so that the command of the LORD might be made clear to them.
Then the LORD spoke to Moses:13Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
"Bring the one who cursed outside the camp, and all who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the whole congregation is to stone him to death.14"Bring the one who has cursed outside the camp, and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head; then let all the congregation stone him.
Moreover, you are to tell the Israelites, 'If any man curses his God he will bear responsibility for his sin,15"You shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'If anyone curses his God, then he will bear his sin.
and one who misuses the name of the LORD must surely be put to death. The whole congregation must surely stone him, whether he is a foreigner or a native citizen; when he misuses the Name he must be put to death. 16'Moreover, the one who blasphemes the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him. The alien as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.
"'If a man beats any person to death, he must be put to death.17'If a man takes the life of any human being, he shall surely be put to death.
One who beats an animal to death must make restitution for it, life for life.18'The one who takes the life of an animal shall make it good, life for life.
If a man inflicts an injury on his fellow citizen, just as he has done it must be done to him--19'If a man injures his neighbor, just as he has done, so it shall be done to him:
fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth--just as he inflicts an injury on another person that same injury must be inflicted on him.20fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; just as he has injured a man, so it shall be inflicted on him.
One who beats an animal to death must make restitution for it, but one who beats a person to death must be put to death.21'Thus the one who kills an animal shall make it good, but the one who kills a man shall be put to death.
There will be one regulation for you, whether a foreigner or a native citizen, for I am the LORD your God.'" 22'There shall be one standard for you; it shall be for the stranger as well as the native, for I am the LORD your God.'"
Then Moses spoke to the Israelites and they brought the one who cursed outside the camp and stoned him with stones. So the Israelites did just as the LORD had commanded Moses. 23Then Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, and they brought the one who had cursed outside the camp and stoned him with stones. Thus the sons of Israel did, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
