Psalm 75
NET Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew Living Translation
1For the music director; according to the al-tashcheth style; a psalm of Asaph; a song. We give thanks to you, O God! We give thanks! You reveal your presence; people tell about your amazing deeds. 1We thank you, O God! We give thanks because you are near. People everywhere tell of your wonderful deeds.
2God says, "At the appointed times, I judge fairly. 2God says, “At the time I have planned, I will bring justice against the wicked.
3When the earth and all its inhabitants dissolve in fear, I make its pillars secure." (Selah) 3When the earth quakes and its people live in turmoil, I am the one who keeps its foundations firm. Interlude
4I say to the proud, "Do not be proud," and to the wicked, "Do not be so confident of victory! 4“I warned the proud, ‘Stop your boasting!’ I told the wicked, ‘Don’t raise your fists!
5Do not be so certain you have won! Do not speak with your head held so high! 5Don’t raise your fists in defiance at the heavens or speak with such arrogance.’”
6For victory does not come from the east or west, or from the wilderness. 6For no one on earth—from east or west, or even from the wilderness— should raise a defiant fist.
7For God is the judge! He brings one down and exalts another. 7It is God alone who judges; he decides who will rise and who will fall.
8For the LORD holds in his hand a cup full of foaming wine mixed with spices, and pours it out. Surely all the wicked of the earth will slurp it up and drink it to its very last drop." 8For the LORD holds a cup in his hand that is full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours out the wine in judgment, and all the wicked must drink it, draining it to the dregs.
9As for me, I will continually tell what you have done; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob! 9But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10God says, "I will bring down all the power of the wicked; the godly will be victorious." 10For God says, “I will break the strength of the wicked, but I will increase the power of the godly.”
