Psalm 87
NET Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew Living Translation
1Written by the Korahites; a psalm, a song. The LORD's city is in the holy hills. 1On the holy mountain stands the city founded by the LORD.
2The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwelling places of Jacob. 2He loves the city of Jerusalem more than any other city in Israel.
3People say wonderful things about you, O city of God. (Selah) 3O city of God, what glorious things are said of you! Interlude
4I mention Rahab and Babylon to my followers. Here are Philistia and Tyre, along with Ethiopia. It is said of them, "This one was born there." 4I will count Egypt and Babylon among those who know me— also Philistia and Tyre, and even distant Ethiopia. They have all become citizens of Jerusalem!
5But it is said of Zion's residents, "Each one of these was born in her, and the sovereign One makes her secure." 5Regarding Jerusalem it will be said, “Everyone enjoys the rights of citizenship there.” And the Most High will personally bless this city.
6The LORD writes in the census book of the nations, "This one was born there." (Selah) 6When the LORD registers the nations, he will say, “They have all become citizens of Jerusalem.” Interlude
7As for the singers, as well as the pipers--all of them sing within your walls. 7The people will play flutes and sing, “The source of my life springs from Jerusalem!”
