Written by the Korahites; a psalm, a song. The LORD's city is in the holy hills. 1A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A song. He has founded His city on the holy mountains.
The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwelling places of Jacob. 2The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
People say wonderful things about you, O city of God. (Selah) 3Glorious things are ascribed to you, O city of God. Selah
I mention Rahab and Babylon to my followers. Here are Philistia and Tyre, along with Ethiopia. It is said of them, "This one was born there." 4“I will mention Rahab and Babylon among those who know Me—along with Philistia, Tyre, and Cush—when I say, ‘This one was born in Zion.’ ”
But it is said of Zion's residents, "Each one of these was born in her, and the sovereign One makes her secure." 5And it will be said of Zion: “This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High Himself will establish her.”
The LORD writes in the census book of the nations, "This one was born there." (Selah) 6The LORD will record in the register of the peoples: “This one was born in Zion.” Selah
As for the singers, as well as the pipers--all of them sing within your walls. 7Singers and pipers will proclaim, “All my springs of joy are in You.”
