A prayer of David. Listen O LORD! Answer me! For I am oppressed and needy. 1A prayer of David. Incline Your ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
Protect me, for I am loyal! O my God, deliver your servant, who trusts in you! 2Preserve my soul, for I am godly. You are my God; save Your servant who trusts in You.
Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I cry out to you all day long! 3Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I call to You all day long.
Make your servant glad, for to you, O Lord, I pray! 4Bring joy to Your servant, for to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
Certainly O Lord, you are kind and forgiving, and show great faithfulness to all who cry out to you. 5For You, O Lord, are kind and forgiving, rich in loving devotion to all who call on You.
O LORD, hear my prayer! Pay attention to my plea for mercy! 6Hear my prayer, O LORD, and attend to my plea for mercy.
In my time of trouble I cry out to you, for you will answer me. 7In the day of my distress I call on You, because You answer me.
None can compare to you among the gods, O Lord! Your exploits are incomparable! 8O Lord, there is none like You among the gods, nor any works like Yours.
All the nations, whom you created, will come and worship you, O Lord. They will honor your name. 9All the nations You have made will come and bow before You, O Lord, and they will glorify Your name.
For you are great and do amazing things. You alone are God. 10For You are great and perform wonders; You alone are God.
O LORD, teach me how you want me to live! Then I will obey your commands. Make me wholeheartedly committed to you! 11Teach me Your way, O LORD, that I may walk in Your truth. Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name.
O Lord, my God, I will give you thanks with my whole heart! I will honor your name continually! 12I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify Your name forever.
For you will extend your great loyal love to me, and will deliver my life from the depths of Sheol. 13For great is Your loving devotion to me; You have delivered me from the depths of Sheol.
O God, arrogant men attack me; a gang of ruthless men, who do not respect you, seek my life. 14The arrogant rise against me, O God; a band of ruthless men seeks my life, with no regard for You.
But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and merciful God. You are patient and demonstrate great loyal love and faithfulness. 15But You, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion and faithfulness.
Turn toward me and have mercy on me! Give your servant your strength! Deliver your slave! 16Turn to me and have mercy; grant Your strength to Your servant; save the son of Your maidservant.
Show me evidence of your favor! Then those who hate me will see it and be ashamed, for you, O LORD, will help me and comfort me. 17Show me a sign of Your goodness, that my enemies may see and be ashamed; for You, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me.
