Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. There the LORD showed him the whole land--from Gilead to Dan,1Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which faces Jericho, and the LORD showed him all the land: Gilead as far as Dan,
all of Naphtali, the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Mediterranean Sea,2all of Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Mediterranean Sea,
the Negev and the whole region from the Valley of Jericho, the City of Palms, as far as Zoar.3the Negev, and the plain in the Valley of Jericho, the City of Palms, as far as Zoar.
Then the LORD said to him, "This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when I said, 'I will give it to your descendants.' I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it."4The LORD then said to him, "This is the land I promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, 'I will give it to your descendants.' I have let you see it with your own eyes, but you will not cross into it."
And Moses the servant of the LORD died there in Moab, as the LORD had said.5So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the LORD's word.
He buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is.6He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab facing Beth-peor, and no one to this day knows where his grave is.
Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone.7Moses was one hundred twenty years old when he died; his eyes were not weak, and his vitality had not left him.
The Israelites grieved for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the time of weeping and mourning was over.8The Israelites wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days. Then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses came to an end.
Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to him and did what the LORD had commanded Moses.9Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites obeyed him and did as the LORD had commanded Moses.
Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,10No prophet has arisen again in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face.
who did all those signs and wonders the LORD sent him to do in Egypt--to Pharaoh and to all his officials and to his whole land.11He was unparalleled for all the signs and wonders the LORD sent him to do against the land of Egypt--to Pharaoh, to all his officials, and to all his land,
For no one has ever shown the mighty power or performed the awesome deeds that Moses did in the sight of all Israel.12and for all the mighty acts of power and terrifying deeds that Moses performed in the sight of all Israel.
